Arrabal and its history
Across 400 years of history, Madrid’s Plaza Mayor has gone by many names — PLAZA DEL ARRABAL was the first name this space was ever known by. Arrabal Madrid stands on the very same original brickwork with which it was built in 1504. Our caves span more than 140 square metres of pure history, once used as secret passageways connecting the heart of the capital. Who knows how many romances, conspiracies and untold stories have unfolded within these walls? Be part of the history we are still writing.

Our culinary approach puts the produce centre stage: traditional dishes with a distinctly Madrileño character and a signature touch that brings out the very best in every ingredient. At Arrabal Madrid, tradition and innovation go hand in hand to create a dining experience where the produce itself is the star of every dish. We’re also fiercely proud of our Asturian roots. We’ve worked meticulously to bring the capital the finest cachopo we could create — a little piece of Asturias — and that work earned us Best Cachopo in Madrid 2024 and runner-up in the world.
